GORHAM, Maine — The Brandeis University men's cross country team finished in a tie for 17th place at the New England Division III Regional championships yesterday at the University of Southern Maine. The Judges' 480 points matched Westfield State University and were 22 behind 16th-place Babson.
For the fourth time in six races this season, junior Jarret Harrigan (Ipswich, Mass./St. Johns Prep) was the Judges' top performer. Harrigan placed 50th overall with a time of 25:54.55 over the eight-kilometer course. Harrigan improved his position by 22 places over his 2012 performance at New Englands, while shaving about 30 seconds of his time.
Sophomore Quinton Hoey (Watertown, Conn./Watertown) continued his run as the Judges' second runner all season, finishing in 76th place with a time of 26:20.71. Sophomore Grady Ward (Essex Junction, Vt./Essex) wasn't far behind, just seven seconds (26:27.85) in 85th place.
Junior Michael Rosenbach (Tampa, Fla./Berkeley Prep) came in 111th overall with a time of 26:58.00, while rookie Matt Doran (Hopedale, Mass./Hopedale) contributed to the team scoring for the fourth time this season, finishing 161st with a time of 27:47.39.
