Men's cross country runs at Conn. College

WATERFORD, Conn. – The Brandeis University men's cross country team competed at the 2018 Connecticut College Invitational today at Harkness Memorial State Park. The Judges placed 24th with 637 points.

Sophomore Josh Lombardo (Westbrook, Maine/Westbrook) was the team's top performer for the second week in a row, covering the eight-kilometer course in 26:24.4, setting a collegiate-best for the distance by half a second over his performance at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational two weeks ago. Lombardo finished in 93rd place overall.

Rookie Matthew Driben (Reading, Pa. / Wyomissing) was second on the squad for the second meet in a row with a time of 26:37.0, 10 seconds behind his time from the previous week and 114th overall.

Junior Dan Curley (Norwood, Mass. / Norwood) claimed the third spot for the Judges with a time of 27:23.2, his first time under 28 minutes in college. Curley came in 204th place.

Sophomore Connor Crowley (Ludlow, Mass. / Ludlow) also broke 28 minutes for the first time in his career, running 27:59.1, more than a minute-and-a-half faster than his performance at the previous meet. Crowley placed 260th.

Sophomore Eric Rosenheim (Haddon Heights, N.J. / Haddon Heights) rounded out the scoring positions with a time of 28:06.0, good for 273rd place.

The Judges return to action in two weeks on Sunday, October 28th, when they travel to Wisconsin for the 2018 University Athletic Association championships hosted by the University of Chicago.
