Sophomore Sadie-Rose Apfel tossed a five-inning, three-hit shutout in the opener as the Judges won 8-0, but the Mules bounced back for a 7-1 in in the nightcap.

The Judges have added Danielle DelPonte, a 2009 UConn graduate who was most recently head coach at Anna Maria College, as the fourth softball coach in Brandeis history.
