The Judges celebrated seniors Sadie-Rose Apfel and Amanda Shore before resuming yesterday's suspended contest, plus the originally scheduled twinbill. The Judges lost all three games.
Scottie Todd tossed a five-hitter, but a couple of costly errors and a three-hitter by the Bears' pitcher were enough for the visitors. The second game of the twinbill was suspended with WashU leading, 3-1.
The battery of Scottie Todd (7 IP, 7 H, 0 ER) and Keri Lehtonen (3-4, 5 RBI, Grand Slam) led the Judges to a 5-0 win in the opener, but a late rally fell short in a 4-3 loss in the nightcap.
Scottie Todd starred in game one, allowing one unearned run in a complete game effort from the pitcher's circle and knocking in two runs on two RBI singles at the plate.
Melissa DeLaurentis had two home runs and seven RBIs on the afternoon, including a walk-off home run in the second game to give the Judges an 11-3 victory.
The junior catcher went 4-5 out of the leadoff spot, including a three-run triple in the four-run third inning. She finished one RBI short of the school record.
