QUINCY, Mass. (courtesy Eastern Nazarene College sports information) — The Brandeis University women's basketball team started the game off with a 13-2 run over the first six minutes of play to set the tone for what ended up being a 67-41 Judges victory over host Eastern Nazarene College on Monday night. Brandeis junior Morgan Kendrew (Cotuit, Mass./Barnstable) scored 12 points in the first half, outscoring the entire Lion squad, as the Judges established a 36-11 halftime lead.

The Lady Lions came out with high energy and fast pace in the second half which allowed them to chip away at the Brandeis lead. ENC shot 63 percent from behind the arc (5-8) in the second half to narrow the lead midway through the second half. In the midst of the Lions' scoring, Brandeis remained calm and consistent and was able to maintain their hold on the game and coast to a 26-point win.

The Judges were led by Kendrew who finished the game with 16 points. Senior forward Amber Strodthoff (DePere, Wis./DePere) and junior guard Kelly Ethier (Springfield, Mass./Minnechaig Regional) each scored 8 points as 11 Brandeis players registered points in the contest. Rookie Kasey Dean (Southbury, Conn./Pomeraug) came off the bench to lead the team with 7 rebounds, a career-best.

For the Lady Lions, freshman Julianne Atwater and sophomore Ace Carradine scored 9 points apiece to lead the team. Carradine also dished out a game high 4 assists. Sophomore post player Shardae Brown led the game with 10 rebounds. Freshman guard Katie Warren added 8 points.

The win brings the Judges to 6-3 on the season while the loss drops ENC to 1-9. Both teams will break for final exams before jumping back into action at the end of the month. Brandeis will play their next game on December 31st at home against Husson while the Lady Lions will travel to Connecticut College on January 6th
