PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Brandeis University women's basketball team never trailed today as they dominated Johnson and Wales in a non-conference game on the road, 74-31, for their biggest win of the season. Brandeis had eight players score between six and 10 points, and the Judges controlled the glass, 61-26, to pick up their second-straight road win.

Every Judge player got into the game, with 13 of the 15 active players on the roster seeing at least 10 minutes of playing time and scoring points. The team's high scorer was senior guard Janelle Rodriguez (Peabody, Mass./Peabody Memorial), who netted 10 points, all in the first half. She hit 4-of-9 from the field and 2-of-3 from deep in 14 minutes, and only played one minute after the break. Rookie guard Paris Hodges (Southampton, N.Y./Southampton) added eight first-half points and led the rebounding effort with seven boards, tied for her second-best performance of the season. Senior Kasey Dean (Soutbury, Conn./Pomperaug) led all players with three assists and had seven points - as did rookie forward Maria Jackson (Rochester, N.Y./Hilton) and senior center Angela Miller (Sicklerville, N.J./Timber Creek)

The Judges shot 46.2 percent from the floor for the game (30-65), while holding JWU to just 16.9 percent (10-59). Brandeis's 18 offensive rebounds were as many defensive boards as the Wildcats managed. Johnson and Wales' Jenna Juron was the only player for the hosts to score more than one field goal, finishing with a team-high six points.

With the win, Brandeis improves to 3-4, while JWU falls to 1-5. The Judges will close out the first semester on Monday evening at 7 p.m. at Simmons College. Johnson and Wales is at UMass Dartmouth Tuesday at 7 p.m.
