Women's fencing captures Northeast Fencing Conference title

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Brandeis women's fencing team captured its first Northeast Fencing Conference crown this weekend. The Judges upended defending champion and host Brown University, 19-8, to finish the weekend with a 6-0 record and a 12-0 mark overall in the NFC. Behind the performances of senior Jessica Newhall (E. Falmouth, Mass./Falmouth), who went 9-0, and sophomore Alex Dalrymple (New York, N.Y./LaGuardia), who was 10-1, the foil squad posted an impressive 48-6 record to aid the cause. Other top performers for the Judges were sophomore Anna Hanley (Medford, Mass./Lexington Christian), who went 14-0 in the saber, and sophomore Emma Larkin (Montclair, N.J./Montclair-Kimberly), who was 9-1 in the epee.
