Judge coached Brandeis from 1955 through 1981 and guided the team to 16 New England Championships and three trips to the national championships in the pre-NCAA era. She was a 1996 Joseph M. Linsey Hall of Fame inductee.
The Judges had two individual gold medalists, as well as squad championships in women's foil and men's saber. The women were three-weapon champions as well.
Liz Feller went 15-3 to earn women's fencing honors, while Maria Jackson averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds with a game-winning shot for women's basketball.
The Judges finished the conference schedule with a 9-3 mark after topping Vassar and Dartmouth handily, posting narrow wins over Tufts and Brown and suffering a defeat to BC today.
The Brandeis men went 4-2, while the women were 3-4 despite a 6-1 mark for the women's foil squad. Junior Liz Felled led the women with a 15-4 record, earning UAA Fencer of the Week honors in the process.
Senior Nina Sayles, juniors Guillermo Narvaez and Kyle Berney, along with recent grad Sonya Glickman, are in China from August 18-23, and they will be filing occasional dispatches. We will add photos when they become available.
