STANDISH, Maine -- The Brandeis University women's soccer team
snapped its four-match losing streak today with a 1-0 victory over
St. Joseph's College.
Brandeis (7-6-1) and St. Joseph's (8-6) played an extremely even
game, with Brandeis outshooting the Monks, 15-11, and the corner
kick totals even at four aside. The lone goal game with just under
three minutes left in regulation when the Judges' high-powered
combination of senior Lauren Gregor (Holliston, Mass.) and Lisa
Kaplin (Armonk, N.Y.) connected for the third time this season.
Kaplin's seventh goal of the season trails only Gregor's eight this
year, while Gregor moved into second on the team with her third
assist.
Brandeis sophomore goalkeeper Betsey Medow (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.)
made three saves for her fourth shutout of the campaign. The Judges
are next in action on Wednesday at Plymouth State University for
their final non-conference match of the season.
