WALTHAM, Mass. – The Brandeis University women's soccer team got two goals from sophomore Makenna Hunt (Tyngsborough, Mass./Tyngsborough) and a goal and an assist from junior Daria Bakhtiari (Wilmington, Mass./Wilmington) as the Judges won their fourth-straight game, 3-1, over rival Babson College. With the win, the Judges improve to 4-1 on the season, while the Beavers fall to 2-2.

The first three goals of the game came in a span of six minutes and three seconds. Hunt got things started in the 21st minute when she controlled a 50-50 ball at the top of the box, turn and shot one just under the crossbar. It was her third goal of the season.

Just 2:35 later, Bakhtiari lofted another high shot that hit off the crossbar. Hunt was there for the rebound, sending into the wide open net as the Babson keeper was out of position playing the initial shot. Hunt's second goal gave Brandeis their fourth-straight game with a multiple-goal scorer.

Babson got one goal back in the 27th minute, when leading scorer senior Olivia West netted her third of the season, sending home a cross by sophomore Sydney McLaughlin.

Brandeis reestablished their two-goal lead in the 69th minute when Bakhtiari sent a high shot from left corner of the 18-yard box under the crossbar. It was her first goal of the season and the seventh of her career.

For the game, Brandeis outshot Babson, 26-4, including 15-4 in shots on goal. The Beavers' rookie netminder Morgan Fedosiewich made 11 saves in the losing effort, plus Babson cleared a ball off the line in the early going. Brandeis senior Victoria Richardson (Tolland, Conn./Tolland) had three stops in the winning effort.

The win was Brandeis's eighth in a row against Babson in the most-played rivalry in program history. The Judges are now 24-18-3 all-time against the Beavers.
