WALTHAM, Mass. -- Brandeis University rookie swimmer
Angela Chui (Toms River, N.J.) was impressive in
her first collegiate dual meet, setting two school records and just
missing another as the Judges fell to Division I Boston College,
145.5-116.5.
Chui established Brandeis records in winning both backstroke
events. She captured the 100-yard event in 1:01.19 and the 200 in
2:09.90. Chui broke records held by Sharon Makowsky
'06 that had been on the Judges' record board since 2005
and 2006, respectively. Her time in the 200 back was less than a
second off the NCAA Division III Championship 'B' standard. She
also captured the 200-yard individual medley in 2:12.84.
Junior Hollis Viray (Glastonbury, Conn.) was the
only other multiple winner for the Judges, taking both breaststroke
events. Viray won the 100 in 1:12.10 and the 200 in 2:33.11. Junior
Rachel Sawicki (Wilmington, Del.) captured the
100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.25. Brandeis is next in
action on Saturday at Keene State College.
