Women's swimming moves to 4-1 with 133-108 win over cross-town rival Bentley

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Rookies Angela Chui (Toms River, N.J.) and Julia Derk (Greeley, Colo.) combined for four individual wins and were on one winning relay tonight as the Brandeis University women's swimming and diving team defeated Division II cross-town rival Bentley University, 133-108, at Bentley.

Chui continued her fine rookie campaign with three individual wins. She set a Falcon pool record of 2:11.49 while winning the 200 individual medley, also breaking the Brandeis schooll record set by Maya Marx '03 in 2002. She also finished first in the 200 backstroke (2:09.88) and was a member of the Judges’ winning 400 medley relay team. Derk joined her on the relay and also captured the 100 free (57.72 seconds) and 200 free (2:03.95).

Single-event winners for the Judges included rookie Elise Allan (Swedesboro, N.J.) in the 50 free (27.10 seconds), sophomore Dana Simms (Rockville, Md.) in one-meter diving (205.50); junior Siobahn Lyons (Leominster, Mass.) in the 500 free (5:35.37) and junior Hollis Viray (Glastonbury, Conn.) in the 200 breastroke (2:36.03). Chui, Viray, Lyons and Derk combined to open the meet with a time of 4:12.96 in the 400 medley relay.
