HARTFORD, Conn. -- Four different triple winners and two winning relay teams helped the Brandeis University women's swimming and diving team capture their final dual meet of the season, 177-120, over host Trinity College. The Judges close their dual-meet season with a record of 6-3.

The Judges were paced by the quartet of junior Siobhan Lyons (Leominster, Mass./Notre Dame Acad.), junior Hollis Viray (Glastobury, Conn./Glastonbury), rookie Angela Chui (Toms River, N.J./Peddie School) and rookie Julia Derk (Greeley, Colo./Greeley West), who all won three individual events and were part of a winning relay.

Lyons was victorious in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:35.82 and took both butterfly events, capturing the 100 in 1:03.48 and the 200 in 2:17.77. Chui earned wins in back-to-back events, taking the 200-yard free in 1:58.96 and the 100-yard backstroke in 1:04.26. She also won the 200 back in 2:10.5.

Viray took two breaststroke events, earning first in the 100 with a time of 1:09.52 and in the 200 with a time of 2:29.73. She also won the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:50.40. Derk rounded out the triple winners, all of her wins coming in the freestyle. She took both sprints, winning the 50 in 26.12 seconds and the 100 in 56.30 seconds. Derk also captured the 500 free with a time of 5:27.72.

Brandeis took relay wins in the 200-yard medley as the team of Chui, sophomore Dana Simms (Rockville, Md./Walter Johnson), Lyons and rookie Elise Allan (Swedesboro, N.J./Kingsway Reg.) won by five seconds with a time of 1:57.03. Chui broke her own school record in the lead leg, swimming the 50 free in 28.91 seconds. In the 400 free relay, Allan, senior Leah Lipka (Fairbanks, Alaska/Fairbanks West), Viray and Derk earned a narrow win with a time of 3:51.07.

The Judges are now off for nearly three weeks before the UAA Championships at the University of Chicago in mid-February.
