Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Fall to Trinity

HARTFORD, Conn. - The Brandeis University swimming and diving team traveled to Trinity College (Conn.) yesterday. The men's team fell by a score of 71-190 and the women fell by a score of  114-156. 

 

TOP PERFORMERS - WOMEN

  • Sophomore Kylie Herman (Weston Fla./Cypress Bay) had an outstanding day with three first place finishes in the 200 yard freestyle (2:01.34), 200 yard butterfly (2:16.32), and 500 yard freestyle (5:25.93).
  • Freshman Natalya Wozab (Plantation, Fla./Saint Thomas Aquinas) had an exceptional performance with two first place finishes in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:11.84) and 200 yard breaststroke (2:37.05), and a second place finish in the 200 yard IM (2:21.05).
  • Freshman Hwanhee Park (Cumberland, Me./Greely) collected three second place finishes in the 200 yard freestyle (2:05.32), 100 yard freestyle (57.25), and 100 yard butterly (1:03.03).
  • Freshman Philippa Zheku (Woburn, Mass./Woburn Memorial) notched two second place finishes in the 100 yard backstroke (1:04.45) and 200 yard backstroke (2:18.29).
  • Freshman Yvette Smith (Gainesville, Fla./Gainesville) finished second in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 26.45.
  • Junior Genna Karp (Springfield, N.J./Golda Och Academy) dove her best score of the season in the 3-Meter Dive with a score of 147.60.
  • The women's 400 yard freestyle relay team of Abby Damsky (New York, N.Y./The Brearley School)Kylie Herman, Philippa Zheku, and Fallon Katz (Sarasota, Fla./Pine View) finished second with a time of 3:58.94.

TOP PERFORMERS - MEN

  • Freshman Tamir Zitelny (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) notched a first place finish in the 100 yard butterfly (53.50) and two second place finishes in the 100 yard backstroke (54.12) and the 100 yard freestyle (49.55).
  • Senior Edan Zitelny (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) logged a pair of second place finishes in the 200 yard butterfly (2:04.12) and the 200 yard backstroke (2:04.20).
  • Senior Cameron Braz (Monson, Mass./Monson) finished second in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 23.11.
  • Freshman Noah Ayers (San Diego, Calif./Torrey Pines) finished second in the 500 yard freestyle (5:08.90).
  • The men's 400 yard freestlye relay team of Thomas Alger (Plymouth, Mass./Sacred Heart)Cameron BrazTaku Harada (Henrico, Va./Mills E. Godwin), and Tamir Zitelny finished second with a time of 3:23.67.
