The Brandeis Judges Swimming and Diving Team was defeated by Bentley University on Friday evening. The men's team (4-2) was outscored by a margin of 191-100 and the women (2-5) by a margin of 176.5-100.5.

First-year Richard Selznick (Las Vegas, Nev. / Palo Verde High School) continued a strong start to his rookie season by setting a meet record in the men's 1000-yard freestyle (1:09.72) and finishing atop the 500-yard freestyle (5:00.32). He surpassed Brandeis alum Max Fabian's '13 meet record of 10:10.28. Sophomore Tamir Zitelny (Syosset, N.Y. / Syosset) had an historic race with two record-setting finishes. He beat his previous meet record in the 200-yard butterfly (1:58.70) and topped Bentley alum Matt Gwozdecke's record in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 52.88.

In total, the Judges accumulated five first-place finishes, all for the men. Along with Selznick and Zitelny, Daniel Wohl (Chapel Hill, N.C. / East Chapel Hill) supported the Brandeis effort with a first-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke (2:18.44).

For the women, Kylie Herman (Weston, Fla. / Cypress Bay), Annie Huang (Chapel Hill, N.C. / East Chapel Hill), and Audrey Kim (Livingston, N.J. / Livingston) all won silver. Herman finished second in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:19.68), Huang finished behind Bentley's Paige MacNeil in the 100-yard butterfly (1:05.63), and Kim was the runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.86). The women's team also secured a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:47.00).

The Judges Swimming and Diving Team will look to rebound December 1-3 at WPI's Gompei Invitational.
