ATLANTA, Ga. – At the 2018 University Athletic Association championships at Emory University, the Brandeis University swimming and diving has had one school record, four all-time top-10 performances and several personal-bests.

SCHOOL RECORD

  • Senior Amy Sheinhait (Framingham, Mass./Framingham) led the way by setting a school record in the 50-yard freestyle. Sheinhait, who set the record in December, actually broke the record twice today. She lowered it once by swimming 24.77 seconds to lead off the 200-free medley relay, then again in the 50-free proper, with a time of 24.66 seconds. That was fast enough for 23rd place and spot in tonight's finals. In the finals, she swam a time of 24.71 seconds, in a dead heat for 20th place overall.

TOP 10 TIMES

  • In addition to Sheinhait, three other swimmers had all-time Top 10 times for the Judges. Rookie Richard Selznick (Las Vegas, Nev. / Palos Verde) also reached the finals session in the 500-yard freestyle, with a time of 4:44.67, good for 24th place at the meet and third all-time on the Judges' career list. In the finals, he lowered that time to 4:42.34, improving to 20th place at the meet and second all-time behind record holder Max Fabian '15 by less than a second.
  • Classmate Daniel Wohl (Chapel Hill, N.C. / East Chapel Hill) also had a top time in the 50 free, earning the fifth spot on the men's list with a mark of 21.78 seconds. He finished in 30th place, 0.16 seconds out of the finals.
  • Sophomore Sabrina Greer (Greensboro, N.C. / Greensboro Day School) finished in 42nd place in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:16.98, good for eighth all-time at Brandeis and 42nd at the meet.h
