#27 WTennis makes quick work of Wheaton, 5-0

WALTHAM, Mass. -- The Brandeis women's tennis team, which moved up one spot in the ITA Division III National Rankings to No. 27, needed just under two hours to defeat Wheaton College in a match played to a 5-0 decision last night.

The Judges rolled in doubles action, losing just one game in the three matches. Senior Dylan Schlesinger (Miami, Fla./Palmetto) and junior Maya Vasser (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) swept at No. 2, while rookie Charlotte Aaron (Phoenix, Ariz./Arcadia) and sophomore Sarita Biswas (Bedford, N.Y./Bedford) did the same at No. 3. The Judges' top duo of senior Carley Cooke (San Diego, Calif./Point Loma) and rookie Haley Cohen (Cherry Hill, N.J./Laurel Springs) were 8-1 victors.

Cooke and Cohen wrapped things up in singles action. Cooke avenged a loss from the fall season by defeating the Lyons' Alexandra Marlowe, 6-3, 6-1. Cohen took a 6-0, 6-2 win from Jodi Katz to complete the win.

Brandeis improved to 6-8 with the win, while Wheaton fell to 6-8. The Judges travel to 33rd-ranked Trinity (Conn.) this afternoon.
