#18 Brandeis women get back to winning ways, 9-0, over Babson

WALTHAM, Mass. – Playing on their home outdoor courts for the first time this season, the 18th-ranked Brandeis women's tennis team rolled past visiting Babson College, 9-0. The Judges improve to 9-3 on the season, while the Beavers fall to 10-4.

Brandeis opened with three straight doubles wins, with junior captain Haley Cohen (Cherry Hills, N.J./Laurel Springs Prep) and sophomore Sophia He (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Spackenkill) using a late service break to pick up a 9-7 win.

The Judges secured the win in the middle of the singles lineup, where sophomores Keren Khromchenko (Manalapan, N.J./Allied Academy of Health and Sciences) and Olivia Leavitt (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) each won 12 of their 13 games against the Beavers at Nos. 3 and 4, respectively.

Rookie Sabrina Ross Neergaard (Port Orchard, Wash./Laurel Springs Prep) earned a 6-2, 6-1, win at No. 1, while He earned her first singles win back from injury, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 5. Cohen took a 6-2, 6-2, decision at No. 2, while sophomore Michele Lehat (Great Neck , N.Y. / John L. Miller Great Neck North) closed out the win at No. 6, 6-4, 6-2.

Brandeis returns to action on Sunday afternoon at home against Wheaton College - coached by former Judge assistant coach Pauri Pandian. The match is slated to start at 10 a.m.
