WALTHAM, Mass. – First-year women's tennis players Bhakti Parwani of Ahmedabad, India, and Sabrina Loui of Honolulu, Hawaii, have been named to the 2022 All-University Athletic Association teams today. Parwani was a first-team selection at first singles, while she and Loui were second-team selections at first doubles. Loui also earned honorable mention at third singles.

Parwani was part of a remarkable All-UAA first team that saw all eight singles members come from the Class of 2025. She posted a team-best 10 wins this season, winning her last five in a row. Two of those wins came to players that Parwani had lost to earlier the season. She also had a lead against two of her fellow first-team All-UAA members during the conference tournament at the time that the matches ended. Parwani was a one-time UAA Player of the Week

As a doubles team, Parwani and Loui posted a team-best 12-5 record during the 2021-22 season, including 9-4 at Number 1 doubles in dual matches. They reached the quarterfinals of the ITA Northeast Regional championships in the fall, and during the spring season, went 2-1 at the UAA tournament. Loui was 7-8 overall in singles action, but went 5-2 in matches at #3 singles.

The Brandeis women's tennis team went 6-12 on the season in 2022, reaching #36 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association national Division III rankings. The Judges lost four matches against nationally-ranked opponents, while four of their losses came by 5-4 scores. They were able to avenge one of those losses, against conference rival NYU, in the UAA tournament. The Judges will return all but one starter for the 2022-23 season.

Parwani is 2021 graduate of Kumkum School in Ahmedabad, India.

Loui is a 2021 graduate of Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawaii.
