Selig finishes 3rd in women's mile, Holgate 7th for men at Dartmouth Relays

HANOVER, Mass. -- Three Brandeis runners scored points for the Judges at the 2010 Dartmouth College Relays.

Leading the way for the Judges was junior Grayce Selig (Nartberth, Pa./Springside School),who took third place in the mile run. Her time of 5:08.22 put her behind one Division I competitor from Northeastern University and one from NAIA Ottawa University and ahead of numerous runners from Division I and II institutions, including just edging a foe from host Dartmouth. Selig contributed five of the seven points in the Judges' eight-place team finish. Senior Ally Connolly (Concord, Mass./Concord) also contributed with a seventh-place finish in the 3,000-meter run. Connolly's time of 10:47.21 was the top by a Division III runner.

For the men, junior Devon Holgate (Cumberland, R.I./Cumberland) Holgate, had Brandeis's top finish, also in the mile. His time of 4:20.64 was good for seventh place but was behind four runners from Boston College and two unattached competitors and just ahead of three from host Dartmouth College.
