Capano, Lemay lead Judges to fine showing at Tufts Invitational

Medford, Mass.—The Brandeis University women's indoor track team had a fine showing this weekend at the Tufts University Invitational on Saturday, February 5.

Senior Lucia Capano (Manchester, N.H./Manchester Central) had a fantastic meet, finishing in second place in the triple jump with a distance of 11.17 meters, just shy of the NCAA provisional qualifier.  Capano also finished in eighth place in the long jump (4.68 meters) and in 12th place in the 60-meter dash (8.33).  Sophomore Kim Farrington (Shirley, Mass./Ayer) also placed well in the triple jump with a  distance of 10.56 meters.

Senior Marie Lemay (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) gave Brandeis another second place finish in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 3:05.59.  Senior Hannah Lindholm (Madison, Wis./West High) came in third place in the mile with a time of 5:27.67.  Sophomore Casey McGown (Clinton, Mass./Clinton) finished third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:01.98 and junior Lily Parenteau (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) placed third in the high jump with a height of 1.58 meters. 

Sophomore Anna Sinjour (New Bedford, Mass./New Bedford) also had a fine meet with a sixth place finish in the 400-meter dash (1:02.49) and ninth place finish in the 200-meter dash (27.53).

The women's team runs again Saturday, February 12 at the Boston University Valentine's Classic.
