Farrington Leads Women's Track and Field at the Brown Springtime Invitational

WALTHAM, Mass.- On Saturday April 13th, the men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Brown Springtime Invitational in a non-scoring meet.

On the women's side, senior Kim Farrington (Shirley, Mass./ Ayer) led the way in the triple jump. Farrington's distance of 34 feet 2 1/4 inches (10.42 meters) was good for seventh place. Juniors Amelia Lundkvist (So. Portland, Maine/ Cheverus) and Victoria Sanford (Andover, N.Y./ Andover) also turned in impressive performance in the mile run. Lundkvist and Sanford finished 12th and 13th respectively with times of 5:12.09 and 5:12.33.  

On the men's side, the Judges turned in two top-five performances in the mile-run. Senior Alex Kramer (No. Andover, Mass./ No. Andover) led the way, coming in third in the event, just a quarter of a second out of second place. Kramer finished with a time of 4:12.96. Classmate Mik Kern (Groton, N.Y./ Groton) was also impressive, completing the race in 4:14.21, good for fifth place. Meanwhile in the field, rookie Adam Berger (Concord, N.H./ Concrod) was eighth in the triple jump with a leap of 40 feet 5 1/2 inches (12.33 meters).

Both squads continue their season on Saturday April 20th at the Fitchburg State Invitational.
