Guerra takes home UAA Athlete of the Week honors

Jac Guerra '22, UAA Athlete of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Brandeis University first-year Jac Guerra of Guilford, Connecticut, has been selected as the University Athletic Association Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 20th.

Guerra earned UAA weekly honors for the first time. Competing at the Bowdoin Invitational on Saturday, January 19, Guerra was the runner-up in the mile run with a time of 5:07.32. When the time is converted for the flat track, it puts Guerra atop the UAA and seventh among all Division III competitors in the event. The top 20 performers will earn a berth at the NCAA Division III Championships, which will be held March 8-9 at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. Guerra will be looking to reach the NCAA Championships for the second time, having reached the Cross Country championship meet in the fall, where he helped Brandeis finish in sixth place.

The Brandeis women's track and field team is currently ranked 12th in Division III. The Judges return to action this weekend at the Terrier Classic at Boston University and at the Branwen Smith-King Invitational at Tufts.

Guerra is a 2018 graduate of Guilford High School.
