MEDFORD, Mass. – Brandeis University junior Niamh Kenney (Hanover, Mass./Hanover) has likely punched her ticket to her second career NCAA Division III Championships today at the Tufts University National Qualifier Last Chance meet.

Kenney took more than 10 seconds off her previous career-best in the 3K, running 9:51.40. That was the fifth-fastest time of the season in Division III, likely putting her into the field for next weekend's NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Kenney previously competed at the NCAA Cross Country Championships last fall as a sophomore.

Sophomore Devin Hiltunen (Quincy, Mass./North Quincy) also tried to improve her standing to reach her second NCAA championships. Hiltunen finished in second place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.61 seconds, her season-best for a flat track. That mark ranks 24th in Division III, with the top 20 qualifying for the championships. Hiltunen also ran the 400-meter dash in 59.38 seconds, which was not an improvement on her previous season-best. She is now ranked 36th in the 400.
