Women's track places fifth at Tufts Snowflake Classic

LOWELL, Mass. -- The Brandeis University track and field teams had a strong showing in the Tufts Snowflake Classic on Saturday. The men finished sixth place out of 19 and the women finished fifth out of 20.

WOMEN'S TOP PERFORMANCES

  • Senior Devin Hiltunen (Quincy, Mass. / North Quincy) had a great day over multiple events today. She finished 7th out of 22 in the 100-meter preliminary dash with a time of 13.18, qualifying her for the finals. In the finals she improved her standing, finishing 5th with a time of 13.01 seconds. In the 200-meter dash, Hiltunen finished 7th out of 60 with a time of 27.06 seconds. She also performed well in the 4x400-meter relay.

  • One of the Judges' best events was the 400-meter hurdles. Senior Yahni Lapa (West Newton, Mass. / Newton North) finished 4th with a time of 1:06.06. Junior Hannah Bohbot-Dridi (Mountain View, Calif. / Los Altos) set a personal record, finishing 6th with a time of 1:09.43.

  • The 4x400-meter relay team of junior Liz Korn (Piedmont, Calif. / Piedmont), senior Lapa, Hiltunen, and sophomore Bohbot-Dridi finished 4th of 11 with a time of 4:09.15.
