Western New England University defeated the Brandeis University volleyball team 3-1 to clinch the ECAC Championship. Set scores were 25-16, 17-25, 25-17 and 25-21. Western New England's Inna Sergeychik was named the tournament’s most valuable player.
Yael Einhorn had 32 assists, five kills and five digs while running the offense to a .269 hitting percentage as the Judges held off the Seahawks, 25-17, 25-23, 25-20.
Led by 16 kills from sophomore outside hitter Liz Hood and a season-high .487 attacking percentage, the Judges moved on to the semifinals of the ECAC tournament
Sophomore outside hitter Liz Hood and classmate Elsie Bernaiche, a libero, both earned All-New England honorable mention honors from the AVCA. Hood was also an All-UAA honorable mention.
Wednesday night's ECAC Volleyball quarterfinal match has been postponed because of the inclement weather. It will be made up on Friday, Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m.
Despite a pair of double-doubles by junior setter Yael Einhorn, the Brandeis volleyball team dropped both of its matches at the 2012 UAA tournament to finish the regular season at 19-13. No seventh-place match will be played as NYU dropped out of the tournament.
The Judges defeated Bridgewater State, 3-0, and Smith, 3-2, but fell to Middlebury in three sets in between. Sophomore Liz Hood earned All-Tournament honors.
The Judges couldn't overcome the fifth-ranked Eagles or the host Tartans, despite a double-double performance by Si-Si Hensley, who had 12 kills and 19 digs against CMU.
The Judges won their first UAA match since 2010 behind Liz Hood '15's 22 kills with just five errors in 40 attempts. Brandeis also fell in three sets to #16 Chicago, but statistics are currently unavailable for that match.

In a tuneup for the second UAA Round Robin, the Judges cruised past the Lions, 25-17, 25-18, 25-23. Liz Hood had 13 kills and Lauren Berens had 10 with a .444 hitting percentage.
Taking on conference foes for the first time this season, the Judges fell to Case and top-ranked Washington, 3-0, on the first day of action, and 3-1 to Rochester on Day 2.
Led by outside hitters Liz Hood and Si-Si Hensley, the Judges defeated Bates College 3-1 after falling 2-3 in their opening match against Roger Williams
With 21 kills and a .455 percentage from OH Liz Hood in the opener and a rally from 2-0 down in the nightcap, the Judges improved to 9-2 on the season.
The Judges narrowly defeated Johnson and Wales in five sets, then took out host Western Connecticut State to finish 3-0. In addition MVP Si-Si Hensley, DS Elsie Bernaiche also earned All-Tournament honors.
The 2012-13 season is ready to roll! The three team sports all play on back-to-back days, while women's cross country gets their first tune-up at Weston High School.
