Volleyball named AVCA Team Academic Award winners

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Brandeis University volleyball team has been honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) as AVCA Team Academic Award winners. The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale. The Judges finished their year with a cumulative team GPA of 3.51.

"I'm thrilled that so many of our student-athletes are being recognized for their hard work in and out of the classroom," said Director of Athletics Lynne Dempsey '93. "Representing Brandeis in athletics and doing well in school have never been mutually exclusive and these teams prove that year in and year out."
