WALTHAM, Massachusetts — The Brandeis University volleyball team defeated the Southern Vermont Mountaineers in three sets in a Saturday afternoon match at Auerbach Arena, by scores of 25-2, 25-4, 25-4. With the win the Judges move to 5-3, while Southern Vermont falls to 0-9.

Freshman Marissa Borgert (Blaine, Minn. / Spring Lake Park) had nine individual service aces, breaking the previous record of eight set by Susan Sun vs. Emmanuel in 2011.

Rookies Borgert and Belle Scott (Portland, Ore. / Oregon Episcopal School) led the match with seven kills. Borgert hit .700 (7K-0E-10TA) and Scott hit .583 (7K-0E-12TA)

Junior Leah Pearlman (El Paso, Texas / El Paso) had a match-high 11 assists, while classmate Marlee Nork (Chicago, Ill. / Walter Payton College Prep.) had seven helpers of her own.

Junior Jillian Haberli (Cheshire, Conn. / Cheshire) led the match with nine digs.
