Women's x-country puts five in top 25, places second at UMass-Dartmouth

DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- With their top five runners finishing among the top 25 and all seven of their competitors in the top 40, the Brandeis women's cross country team finished second out of 42 teams at the UMass-Dartmouth Shriner's Invitational. They finished behind only MIT, the No. 9 team in Division III, and ahead of No. 16 Colby and Stonehill College, the No. 21 team in Division II.

The Judges were paced in the second week in a row by junior Grayce Selig (Narberth, Pa./Springside School). Selig completed the 5,000-meter couse in 18:24, good for eighth place and five seconds ahead of her nearest competitor. Selig was followed by sophomore Kate Warwick (Boxborough, Mass./Acton-Boxborough) and junior Marie Lemay (Saco, Maine/Thornton Acad.), who finished in 12th and 13th place, respectively with times of 18:32 and 18:36. For Warwick, it marked the third time in her career she was the team's second scorer.

Next up for the Judges was sophomore Alyssa Pisarik (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford), who came in 17th with a time of 18:47, while senior Ally Connolly (Concord, N.H./Concord) rounded out the scorers in 25th place with a time of 19:07. Ally's sister Beth, a senior, finished in 38th place in 19:18, just ahead of junior Hannah Lindholm (Masidon, Wisc./West), who was 39th with a time of 19:19.
