Bryson earns second UAA weekly honor of 2017

WALTHAM, Mass. – Brandeis University junior Emily Bryson of Quincy, Mass., was named the University Athletic Association Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this season on October 2.

Bryson was honored for her performance at the Keene State Invitational on September 30. She produced her second win of the season and the fourth of her career, besting a field of 82 over the five-kilometer course with a time of 17:38. She helped Brandeis to a sweep of the meet, as they took both women's and men's individual and team titles. The Judges won the team event with a score of 27, besting second-place Colby College by 24 points.

Brandeis was ranked 35th in Division III in the most recent United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll. The Judges will face their best competition of the season this weekend at the Connecticut College Invitational.

This is the 10th  career UAA Athlete of the Week honor for Bryson – her seventh during cross country season to go with three from track and field.

Bryson is a 2015 graduate of North Quincy High School.
