Chris Rice joined the Brandeis Athletics staff as the assistant strength and conditioning coach in 2021-2022. He earned his BS in Sports Medicine with a concentration in Human Performance and Wellness in 2014 and his MS in Exercise and Sport Science in 2020 at Merrimack College.

During his Master's program, he acted as a Graduate Fellow at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell working with Men’s Lacrosse and Baseball. During the prior academic school year, he was an intern with Northeastern University, where he worked with Baseball, Women’s Ice Hockey, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Women’s Basketball, Volleyball, and Women’s Rowing.

Chris also has experience in the private sector, working at Velocity Sports Performance and Phoenix Rising Strength & Fitness. At Velocity Sports Performance, he became the Assistant Sports Performance Director, where he has acted as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach, Director of Programming for all members, Director of Education, and between 2014-2016, through Velocity, he acted as the Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Women’s Lacrosse and Tennis teams at Stonehill College. At Phoenix Rising Strength & Fitness, he became the Director of Sports Performance and Powerbuilding.

Chris is Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa), a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), Reflexive Performance Reset Level-1 certified (RPR), and CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid certified.
