WALTHAM, Mass. – Throughout the course of the 2017-18 academic year, the University Athletic Association (UAA) will be releasing its 30th Anniversary teams, honoring the best student-athletes from the first 30 years of the Association. Brandeis Basketball has had eight alumni named to the anniversary teams, which were released this week.

For the Brandeis men's basketball team, three players were honored. All-time leading scorer Rashad Williams '02 is one of two players in UAA history to have claimed first-team All-Association honors four straight years. He and Bryan Lambert '05 are both members of the Brandeis Hall of Fame. The final member of the 30-year team is Steve DeLuca B.A. '08, M.S. '13, an All-American as a graduate student in 2008.

Brandeis women's basketball led the way with five members named to the team. Racheal Perry '92 and Danielle Fitzpatrick '04 are both Brandeis Hall of Famers, while Caitlin Malcolm '06, Jaime Capra '08 and Jessica Chapin '10 were all multiple All-Americans. Capra was the UAA Co-Player of the Year in 2007-08, while Chapin was the UAA Player of the Year in 2009-10.

The 30-Year teams were named by assigning two points for each spot on an All-University Athletic Association first team and one point for the second team. Each student-athlete who accumulated five points was selected to the team, as were all players who earned Most Valuable Player or Most Outstanding Performer honors.
