Eastman named 2nd team All-Region 2

WALTHAM, Mass. –Brandeis University men's basketball graduate student Tommy Eastman of Honeoye Falls, New York, has garnered All-Region 2 second-team honors from D3hoops.com. This is his second post-season accolade of 2021-22, to go along with All-University Athletic Association second-team honors.

This is the first All-Region selection for Eastman. He led the Judges and was seventh in the University Athletic Association in scoring at 15.8 points per game. He also led the team and finished fourth in the UAA with 7.2 rebounds per game, while his 119 defensive rebounds were sixth overall. Eastman also finished second on the team in assists, averaging 2.3 per game. Eastman, who missed five non-conference games in November and December to injury, scored in double figures 14 times this season, including 10 times in 14 UAA contests. He had four games scoring more than 20 points, including the team's season-high of 35 points in an 86-80 overtime loss to conference champions Emory on February 4. He recorded a pair double-doubles, including a 14-point, 10-rebound performance against Rochester in UAA play, a 66-61 Brandeis win on January 23.

Eastman finished his career with 1,220 points in his career, which spanned three different institutions – Oneonta State as a first-year and sophomore, Middlebury as a senior and Brandeis as a graduate student. He also totaled 667 rebounds and 176 assists.

The Brandeis men's basketball team finished the 2021-22 season with a 15-9 record, 6-7 in the UAA, finishing in fifth place. The Judges will have to replace their top four scorers, top three rebounders and top four assist men for next season.
