Both athletes were honored for their performance at the season-opening New England Fall Intercollegiate Tournament, where each took home a gold medal in foil.

Carminucci rolled to a 15-6 win, and then beat Bailey Partridge of Sacred Heart, 15-10, for the final victory. The gold is the second of Carminucci's career, as she also won took the crown in foil at last year's season-ending New England Intercollegiate Fencing Conference (NEIFC) championships.

Quin also went 6-0 in pool play, earning the sixth seed with a +21 indicator. He topped two teammates in his run to the finals, and beat top-seeded Boston University's Zachary Hammer, 15-6, to earn the gold.  The gold is the second of Quin's career, as like Carminucci he also won gold in foil at least year's NEIFC championships.
