Fencers compete at NEIFC Championships

At the 2020 NEIFC Championships at Vassar College, the Brandeis fencing team took home three individual bronze medals and three top-three team placements.

The overall top placement came from the men's sabre squad, who were second, while the women's sabre squad were third. The men also placed third in the overall three-weapon standings.

Men's epee, men's foil and women's foil all came in fourth, while women's epee was sixth.

Individually, the Judges' three bronze medals came in men's sabre from sophomore Lucas Lin (Plano, Texas/East Plano), women's sabre from rookie Maggie Shealy (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) and women's foil form senior Jessica Gets (Morganville, N.J. / Freehold Township)

Other top finishers were sophomore Jada Harrison (Jericho, N.Y. / Jericho) in sabre, who was sixth; rookie Braden Vaccari (Manhattan, N.Y. / Dwight School), who was eighth in men's sabre; junior Garrett Tordo (Framingham, Mass. / Framingham), ninth in men's epee; and junior Alek Broszkowski (Haworth, N.J. / Northern Valley Regional), 10th in men's foil. 

The Judges will travel to Cornell in two weeks to compete in the NCAA Regionals.
