WALTHAM, Mass.- The 17th-ranked Brandeis Men's soccer team extended their winning streak to three games in non-conference action against the Mount Ida College Mustangs with a 5-0 drubbing. Junior midfielder Kyle Feather (Pinebrook, N.J./ Montville Township) led the Judges attack with a goal and assist in the first half before notching his second career multi-goal game in the second period. Brandeis improves to 14-1-1 on the year while Mount Ida falls to 6-10-1.

In the first half, the Judges took control early when senior forward Sam Ocel (No. Attleboro, Mass./ No. Attleboro) got them on the board in the 7th minute. Senior forward Lee Russo (Westford, Mass./ Westford Acad.) ripped a shot from about 25 yards out and after it deflected off of two defenders, the ball found Ocel's feet. He did not miss as he slammed home his seventh of the season to give Brandeis a 1-0 lead. That strike also moved Ocel into 20th place on Brandeis' All-Time Points list. Just two and a half minutes later, Russo extended the lead on his own when Feather slid a great through ball into the box and Russo finished for his team-leading 12th goal. With a goal and an assist, Russo became the 10th player in Brandeis history to reach 80 career points as he jumped into a 9th-place tie. The Judges weren't done yet when a little less than five minutes later, Feather added on to the lead. Russo took a free kick from deep in Mustang territory that rookie midfielder Jake Picard (Suffield, Conn./ Suffield) had a good chance at. Still, the shot was cleared off the line by a defender only to find the feet of Feather who slipped the ball into the left hand corner of the net for a 3-0 halftime lead.

In the second period, the Judges did not let up and continued to dominate possession and the match. After having the advantage in shots (8-2) and corners (4-1) in the first, Brandeis duplicated that effort in the second with a 13-6 advantage in shots and a 7-3 edge in corners. Feather struck again in the 58th minute when the build-up began in the midfield. Sophomore midfielder Foti Andreo (Lynn, Mass./ Phillips Exeter Acad.) found junior defender Ben Applefield (Avon, Conn./ Avon) streaking down the right side of the field. Applefield then chipped a perfect ball into the box where Feather poked the ball around the keeper and blasted it home for the 4-0 lead. Rookie forward Chris Bradley (E. Brunswick, N.J./ E. Brunswick) capped off the scoring for the evening in the 79th minute when sophomore forward Tyler Savonen (Orleans, Mass./ Nauset Reg.) blasted a shot at the keeper from inside the box. Even though the goalie made the initial save, Bradley was ready as he dribbled the rebound around the keeper and poked the ball into the empty net for his third of the season.

Brandeis' senior goalie Blake Minchoff (Fiskdale, Mass./ Tantasqua Reg.) earned the win with a clean sheet in the first half after needing to make only one save. Sophomore Joe Graffy (Concord, N.H./ Concord) made his second appearance of the season in the second period and rookie Kenn Fryer (Wilmington, Mass./ St. John's Prep.) came on for the final 12 minutes while making a save in his first collegiate action. Mount Ida's sophomore goalie Matt Pils (Monroe, Conn./ Masuk) recorded a match-high four stops.

The Judges return to action on October 26th for a UAA matchup on Gordon Field against Emory at 6:30 p.m.
