WALTHAM, Mass. – Brandeis University senior Andrew Allen (Norfolk, Mass./King Phillip Regional) scored with 14.5 seconds left in the second overtime today as the Judges' men's soccer team knocked off visiting Emory University 1-0, in a University Athletic Association (UAA) contest. With the win, the Judges improve to 7-5-1 overall, 2-1-1 in the UAA, while the Eagles – ranked No. 10 in Division III by D3soccer.com and No. 24 by the United Soccer Coaches – fall to 8-4-1, 0-4-0 UAA.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After a tight first half  - shots were 8-6 in favor of Brandeis – the Judges took control in the second, as they outshot the Eagles, 8-2. Regulation was chippy, with 33 fouls and three yellow cards handed out.
• Emory had the better of the play in the first overtime game, outshooting Brandeis, 3-2, and earning two corner kicks, but the visitors were unable to break the deadlock.
• In the second extra session, the Eagles had the first two shots of the stanza, with the next two going to the Judges.
• With the game in the last minute of the second overtime, Brandeis earned a throw-in deep in the Emory zone. Brandeis junior Jake Warren (Medway, Mass. / Medway) heaved the ball deep into the box.
• After an Emory defender attempted to clear the ball, Allen picked it up. His initial shot was blocked, but it got the Eagle goalkeeper out of position, and Allen's rebound shot snuck just inside the near right post.
• The goal was Allen's fourth of the season and second game-winner. For his career, Allen now has 14 goals, with five game-winners.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Brandeis finished with a 22-13 edge in shots, including 8-2 in shots on goal.
• Corner kicks were even at seven-all.
• Brandeis junior Noah Cohen (North Barrington, Ill. / Lake Forest Acad.) made two saves to record his second win of the season and first career shutout.
• Emory's Cole Gallagher had seven saves in the losing effort.  
• The win was the fifth in a row for Brandeis in their series with Emory, including the second-straight 1-0 win in double overtime.

• Before the game, Brandeis honored their five seniors who were playing in their final home UAA game of their career. They are:
