WALTHAM, Mass. – The Brandeis University men's tennis team bounced back from a loss yesterday to defeat their University Athletic Association rivals from the University of Rochester, 7-2. With the win, the Judges improve to 7-3, while the Yellowjackets fall to 2-3.

Brandeis opened strong with three doubles wins. Senior Colt Tegtmeier (Madison, Wis./James Madison Memorial) and first-year Aryan Nijhawan (Shrewsbury, Mass. / Westborough) opened with an 8-1 win at #3 over Adrian Zhang and Kenneth Lee. The Judges won both #1 and #2 by identical 8-4 scores. Seniors Jeffrey Chen (Northfield, Ill./New Trier) and Adam Tzeng (Eagle, Idaho/Eagle) took the top spot against Pasquale Procaccino and Krish Vennam, while sophomore Dylan Walters (Baltimore, Md./Gilman School) and junior Hunter Levine (Weston, Fla. / Cypress Bay) topped Runjia Fang and Kai Yuminaga at #2.

In singles action, the Judges swept the top three spots to clinch the win. Tzeng earned a second win over Procaccino at #1, 6-2, 6-2, while Chen won by the same score against Fang at #2. Walters defeated Vennam, 7-5, 6-1, to complete the top-of-the-lineup sweep.

The bottom three spots were limited to eight-game pro sets due to time constraints. Sophomore Aaron Basye (Mission Viejo, Calif. / Tesoro) earned the lone win for the Judges in those matches, 8-3, over Lee at #6.

The Judges are off until Saturday, April 2, when they will travel to #12 Tufts for a key non-conference matchup.
