Men's Track and Field Compete at the Fitchburg State and Larry Ellis Invitationals

FITCHBURG, Mass.- On Saturday April 20th, the men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Fitchburg State Invitational. 

On the men's side, three top-eight finishes earned the Judges 13 points and 13th place. Rookie Adam Berger (Concord, N.H./ Concord) was the top performer coming in third in the triple jump with a leap of 41 feet, 5 inches (12.62 meters). Junior Ed Colvin (Roslindale, Mass./ Catholic Memorial School) scored in the 1,500-meter run when his time of 4:07.13 was good for fourth place. Rounding out the scoring for the Judges was sophomore Michael Rosenbach (Tampa, Fla./ Berkeley Prep) who finished seventh in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:00.97. 
 
The men also had two competitors at the Larry Ellis Invitational on Saturday April 20th hosted by Princeton University. Seniors Alex Kramer (No. Andover, Mass./ No. Andover) and Mik Kern (Groton, N.Y./ Groton) ran in the 1,500-meter race. Kramer competed in the Elite heat of the meet and came in 36th with a time of 3:52.92. His time was the 12th fastest in Division III this season. Kern finished in 18th in the Division 2 heat with a time of 3:59.95. 
On the women's side at the Fitchburg State Invitational, senior Casey McGown (Clinton, Mass.) and junior Kelsey Whitaker (Kingston, Mass./ Notre Dame Acad.) led the way with two scoring performances. McGown was the top competitor for the Judges as she finished sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.14, just one-hundreth of a second ahead of seventh and one-tenth of a second behind fifth place. Whitaker came in seventh in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:24.24. Brandeis finished the meet with five points, good for 13th place. 
 
The women also had two competitors at the Larry Ellis Invitational. Two juniors raced in the Division 2 heat of the 1,500-meter run. Amelia Lundkvist (So. Portland, Maine/ Cheverus) and Victoria Sanford (Andover, N.Y./ Andover) finished in 21st and 22nd place, respectively, with times of 4:43.48 and 4:43.84. Their times were the fourth and fifth fastest in the University Athletic Association (UAA) this season.   
 
Both squads continue their season on Saturday April 27th at the UAA Outdoor Championships hosted by NYU.
