Judges excel at Fitchburg State Invitational

In its final meet before the UAA Championships, the Brandeis men's track team took sixth place at the Fitchburg State Invitational. The Judges had seven top-five finishes. Overall, the team placed sixth with 46 points.

Rookie Nick Wactor led the way in sprints, taking fifth in the 400-meter dash. He also finished eighth in the 200 and 17th in the 100. Sophomore Adam Berger was right behind him, finishing 15th in the 200 and 18th in the 100. Rookie Jeremy Wilson was 12th in the 400 and 19th in the 200.

Berger also took third in the triple jump.

Rookie Quinton Hoey had Brandeis' best finish, claiming second out of 39 competitors in the 1500. Hoey finished in 4:08.27.

The Judges had two other second-place finishes. Rookie Mark Franklinwas second in the high jump with a height of five feet, 10 inches. Franklin was 13th in the long jump. The Brandeis 4x400 relay team also finished second.

Sophomore Trevor Tuplin was fourth in the 400-meter hurdles. ClassmateBrandon Odze was ninth. 

Sophomore Matt Becker placed fifth in the 800, finishing with his best outdoor time of the season.

Junior Jarrett Harrigan finished seventh in the 5K.

The UAA Championships begin this weekend in Chicago.
