CHICAGO, Ill. - The Brandeis University track & field teams finished in seventh place today at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Outdoor Championships. Both the men's and women's meets were won by Washington University in St. Louis.

The men's team amassed 27.5 points on six individual scoring performances. The women's side totalled 30 points on four individual results on the second day, and a second-place finish by the 4x800 relay team yesterday. Junior Mohamed Sidique (Harlem, N.Y./St. Raymond H.S. for Boys) and sophomore Kelsey Whitaker (Kingston, Mass./Notre Dame Acad.) both earned All-UAA honors.

Sidique won the UAA triple jump championship for the second time this season. He jumped 43 feet, a personal best, and the 12th-longest jump in Division III this season. Sidique also won the event at the Indoor Championships, which were held at Brandeis two months ago.

Sophomore Adam Berger (Concord, N.H./Concord) was eighth in the triple jump.

Rookie Mark Franklin (Auburn, N.H./Pinkerton Acad.) was fourth in the high jump, just clearing six feet. He tied a career high in the event, which was set at the UAA Indoor Championships.

Junior Jonathan Gilman (Yardley, Pa./George School) also earned points in a field event, finishing seventh in the javelin with a distance of 156 feet.

Brandeis' final two scoring results came in the 400-meter dash. Both Sidique and rookie Nick Wactor (Oakland, Calif./Head-Royce) qualified for the final yesterday after finishing seventh and eighth in the prelims, respectively. Wactor finished seventh this time with a time of 51.66 seconds. It was more than 1/3 of a second better than his qualifying time from the day before, which at the time had been a new personal best. Sidique placed eighth.

The Judges finished in seventh in both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays, after placing seventh in the 4x800 yesterday.

The men's team's final competitor on Day 2 was sophomore Grady Ward (Essex Junction, Vt./Essex). Ward placed 14th in the 1500 with a time of 4:07.18.

The top results on the women's team came in the 1500. Whitaker and senior Amelia Lundkvist (So. Portland, Maine/Cheverus) have traded top times in the event all season, and both finished in the top five in Chicago. Whitaker took second this time, finishing in 4:41.48, while Lundkvist was fifth with a time of 4:43.88.

Senior Victoria Sanford (LaGrangeville, N.Y./Andover) was 11th in the 1500. Junoir Kristi Pisarik (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) placed 14th.

The Judges also got two scoring performances in the women's javelin. Sophomore Ashley Klein (Manalapan, N.J./Manalapan) was fourth with a distance of 101 feet, six inches. Junior Alyssa Fenenbock (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional) was right behind her, throwing the javelin 99 feet, three inches. That was good for sixth place. Rookie Selena Livas (Portland, Ore./Cleveland) finished 15th.

Rookie Maddie Dollins (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park) ran the 5K in 18:26.54, good for 12th. Kate Farrell (Windham, N.H./Windham) was 15th.

The women's 4x400 finished in seventh, less than one second behind sixth-place Carnegie Mellon.

The Judges will compete in the New England Division III Championships at Springfield College this weekend.
