WALTHAM, Mass. – Brandeis University senior Jack Allan of Wrentham, Massachusetts, has been named the University Athletic Association Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 2.
Competing at the Branwen Smith-King Invitational at Tufts University, Allan was honored by the UAA for the first time in his career after breaking the Brandeis school record in the heptathlon with a score of 4782 points. He raised his own school record for the second time this season, increasing it by 143 points. Allan placed first or second in five of the heptathlon's seven events. He won the 60-meter hurdles (8.62 seconds), tied for first in the high jump (1.87m, 6-1 ½) and long jump (6.65m, 21-10) and was second in the pole vault (3.70m, 12-1 ½) and shot put (11.71m, 38-5). Allan's long jump and hurdles performances were both personal-bests. He is currently ranked 10th in Division III in the heptathlon.
The Judges return to action this weekend at Tufts with the Cupid Invitational. The UAA Championships will be held on February 29th and March 1st at NYU.
Allan is a 2016 graduate of King Phillip Regional High School.
