WALTHAM, Mass. — The Brandeis University softball team placed two members on the 2018 All-University Athletic Association second team today, as junior catcher Keri Lehtonen of Oneco, Connecticut, and sophomore pitcher Scottie Todd of Tampa, Florida, were honored. This is the second All-UAA selection for both players.

Lehtonen was a first-team honoree in 2016. This season, she led the Judges with a .375 batting average, 25 runs scored, 13 extra-base hits, nine doubles, seven stolen bases and two triples. She also topped the squad in on-base percentage (.455) and slugging (.558) and finished second with 17 RBI. She finished fourth in the UAA in on-base percentage and triples, sixth in stolen bases and doubles and seventh in batting average. Lehtonen had 11 multi-hit games this season and three games with multiple RBI, including two games with five runs driven in (Feb. 17 vs. Frostburg State and April 20 at NYU) and another with four (Feb. 18 vs. Shenandoah). Lehtonen will take a .385 career batting average into her senior season.

Todd was a second-team honoree as a rookie last year. She went 6-8 in the circle but posted a 1.52 ERA in 101.1 innings pitched, as she allowed just 22 earned runs and 40 total. Todd struck out 52 batters and walked 20. She finished second in the UAA in ERA after leading the league as freshman, and ranked 39th in all of Division III. Todd was fourth in the league in innings pitched and fifth in victories.  She tossed seven complete games this season, including a 5-0 shutout of NYU on April 20, a game in which Lehtonen drove in all five Brandeis runs. Todd also blanked Fitchburg State, 7-0, on April 11. She enters her junior season next year with a 1.47 career ERA as she now owns the two lowest single-season earned-run average marks in school history.

Lehtonen is a 2015 graduate of Plainfield High School.

Todd is a 2016 graduate of Strawberry Crest High School.
