WALTHAM, Mass. – For their performances during the team's February break trip to North Carolina, Brandeis University softball players Marley Felder of Miami, Florida, and Scottie Todd of Tampa, Florida, have been named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Softball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

Felder started all four games at third base for the Judges in her first collegiate contests. She hit. .500 (7-14) and led the team with six run scored, while tying for top honors with seven hits and five RBIs. She had a double and a triple and scored a run in all four contests. Felder went 2-3 with a triple and three RBI in Brandeis's season-opening 8-0 win over Southern Virginia. She was 3-4 with two runs and a stolen base in a 14-6 win over Frostburg State and 2-4 with two RBI, two runs and a double in game one against Salem (N.C.) College. Her two-run double in the top of the seventh tied a game in which the Judges trailed 3-1 headed into their final at-bat. Felder came home to score on the next play as the Judges took a 5-3 win. To wrap up the week, Felder went 0-3 with a walk and a run scored in Game 2 against Salem.

Todd did it with her bat and in the circle last week. She went 2-0 in a pair of appearances. In the team's 14-6 win over Frostburg State, Todd atoned for giving up six runs and six hits by hitting a pair of home runs. She went deep for the third time in her career with two runners on to open the scoring against FSU. She added a second blast in the fourth inning with two aboard. She struck out three and walked four but picked up the win. In the team's 5-3 win over Salem, Todd came on in relief to pitch the final three innings an gave up just one hit, facing one batter over the minimum. Overall at the plate, Todd went 5-11 (.545) and four of her five hits were for extra bases, including two doubles and two home runs.

With a 4-0 record in their fourth year under head coach Danielle DelPonte, the Brandeis softball team is off until March when they open the New England portion of their schedule against Clark University on March 16.

Felder is a 2018 graduate of American Heritage School.
