Now in her fifth year on the Judges' bench, Danielle Delponte has been the head coach of Brandeis softball since June of 2015. In 2019, she guided the team to the best start in school history at 15-0-1 after 16 games. The Judges earned a national ranking for the first time since 2011 and ended up with a 29-7-1 record after reaching the program's second-ever NCAA tournament and reaching the Regional Finals, where their season was cut short because of inclement weather. For her efforts, DelPonte and her assistants were named the University Athletic Association Coaching Staff of the Year.

Before joining Brandeis, DelPonte spent one season as the head coach at Anna Maria College, where she also served as an admissions counselor. Prior to that, she served as head softball coach at Daniel Webster College for the 2012 and 2013 seasons. In 2012, she guided the Eagles to a 23-20 record, the best in school history, and a berth in the ECAC Division III New England tournament, the program’s only postseason berth to date. She was named the New England Collegiate Conference Coach of the Year after that season.

Prior to her head coaching experience, Delponte served as an assistant coach at Boston College and at Springfield.

Delponte is a 2009 graduate of the University of Connecticut, where she was a catcher and still ranks among the top five on the Huskies’ career list in home runs and RBI. She was a two-time Big East All-Academic selection and National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Academic team member. Delponte received her B.A. from UConn in education and an M.Ed. from Springfield in Sports Management and Recreation. She is a native of Tewksbury, Mass.
