Richardson claims UAA Defensive Player of the Week honors, Sept. 17

Victoria Richardson, UAA Defensive Player of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Brandeis University Women's soccer senior goalkeeper Victoria Richardson of Tolland, Connecticut, has been named the September 17 University Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week.

Richardson helped the Brandeis women's soccer team extend its winning streak to four in a row with a pair of victories. She posted her first collegiate shutout on Sept. 10 with a two-save performance against Clark University on the road, handing the Cougars their first defeat. In a 3-1 win over Babson College, Richardson had three more saves as Brandeis defeated their rivals for the eighth-straight time. Richardson's 14 saves this season rank third in the University Athletic Association, while her .778 save percentage is tied for fourth.

This is the first time that Richardson has been honored by the UAA.

Brandeis women's soccer returns to action this afternoon against Tufts University.

Richardson is a 2016 graduate of Tolland High School.
