Lauren Bertsch, All-UAA Women's Tennis Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Brandeis University junior Lauren Bertsch of Middletown, Rhode Island, was named to the 2020 University Athletic Association women's tennis All-Association team.

Bertsch, an All-UAA selection at doubles as a first-year and as a sophomore, makes her first appearance for singles play, though she was an honorable mention as a rookie. Bertsch was the #1 player for the Judges, who started the season ranked #10 in Division III. Bertsch earned three wins this abbreviated season, in the seventh-place match of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Indoor Championships over Centre College, against Wellesley College, and in a tournament against Williams College this fall. Bertsch posted an 8-7 record as a sophomore playing mostly #4 singles and was 13-8 at positions from 3 through 6 as a rookie.

The Brandeis women's tennis team, ranked #10 in Division III to start the season and coming off their first-ever trip to the NCAA Division III tournament last spring, went 1-5 this past season after losing half their starting lineup to graduation. There were no seniors on the final roster this year, the first under head coach Pauri Pandian.

Bertsch is a 2018 graduate of LaSalle Academy.
