#36 women fall to #10 Tufts, 9-0

SOMERVILLE, Mass. – The #36 Brandeis University women's tennis team dropped a match to another ranked opponent on Tuesday as the Judges traveled to #10 Tufts and fell, 9-0. With the loss, the Judges fall to 3-9 on the season, while the Jumbos improve to 8-1.

Brandeis's closest doubles match came at #1, where first-years Bhakti Parwani (Ahmedabad, India/Kumkum School) and Sabrina Loui (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou School) dropped an 8-6 decision to Maggie Dorr and Caroline Garrido. The Jumbos won 8-3 and 8-2 at #2 and #3.

In singles action, Loui also had the closest of the team's matches at #1, losing to Nicki Frankel, 6-3, 7-5. First-year Anastasia Sia (Thessaloniki, Greece / Anatolia College) and Dorr were separate by just two breaks of serve at #4, with Dorr winning 6-3, 6-3. Parwani lost a tight first set to Zoe Kava before falling, 6-4, 6-1.

The Judges return to action this Saturday and Sunday with matches against Skidmore at 1 p.m. and Franklin Pierce at 2 p.m.
