PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Brandeis University junior Niamh Kenney (Hanover, Mass./Hanover) led the Judges women's cross country team to a seventh-place finish today at the University Athletic Association championships hosted by Carnegie Mellon University at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh.

The Judges finished with 161 points, just one behind Case Western Reserve in sixth place and 13 ahead of eighth-place NYU.

Kenney had her best-ever performance at the UAA Championships, finishing 17^th overall with a time of 22:40.39. This marked a 17-second improvement over UAAs last year, when she came in 19^th overall. Kenney just missed a top-14 finish and first career All-Association honor in cross country by about four seconds.

Senior Danielle Bertaux (Prides Crossing, Mass./Beverly) was the team's second runner, coming in 22^nd with a time of 22:50.49. Bertaux was three seconds and five places off her career-best from 2018.

Running third for the Judges was sophomore Erin Magill (South Duxbury, Vt. / Harwood Union), who placed 33^rd overall with a time of 23:09.17. Magill shaved a 1:19 off her rookie performance at UAAs to improve by 30 places. She was the team's eighth finisher as a rookie last year.

Junior Andrea Bolduc (Auburn, Mass./Auburn) also had her best career UAA performance, finishing 47^th with a time of 23:33.80. Bolduc improved by just a shade under one full minute, moving up 17 places in the standings.

Sophomore Hannah Walsh (Fairfield, Maine/Lawrence) made her UAA debut and placed 64^th overall with a time of 24:35.67 to round out the Brandeis scorers.

Magill, Bolduc and Walsh all ran collegiate-best performances for six kilometers.

Rookie Bridget Pickard (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) and junior Leinni Valdez (Providence, R.I./Hope) rounded out the Judges' top seven in 72^nd and 76^th places, respectively, posting times of 25:10.82 and 25:31.92.

The Judges are back in action in two weeks for the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships at Bowdoin College.
