Follow the Judges on-line on NCAA Saturday!

WEEKEND VIEWING GUIDE!

Saturday is a big one for the Judges, with four different Fall NCAA events and a women's basketball Tip-Off game to boot! Here's how you can follow your favorite Judges on-line through the weekend.

WOMEN'S SOCCER * MEN'S SOCCER * CROSS COUNTRY * WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

WOMEN'S SOCCER

For the first time since 2010, Brandeis women's soccer is home for the NCAA Tournament. And for the first time this decade – in any sport! – the Judges are home for the second weekend of play. The #23 women meet #15 McDaniel (Md.) College in the round of 16 Saturday at 11 a.m. Should the Judges advance, they will meet one of two familiar foes from the 2015 tournament - #13 Amherst, who Brandeis eliminated last year in the second round, or #1 William Smith, who did the same to the Judges in the Sweet 16. A berth in the Final Four of the Division III Tournament will be on the line on Sunday at 1 p.m.

MEN'S SOCCER

The Brandeis men are in the Sweet 16 for the fifth year in a row and the Judges head to a familiar venue, Amherst College for the next step in their journey. Coach Coven's squad has gone to Western Mass in three of the past four sectionals, but they will meet the #2-ranked Purple and White for the first time on their home turf Saturday at 11 a.m. In the previous postseason meeting between the two squads in 2014, at Oneonta State, the Judges advanced on PKs. Rutgers-Newark or Oneonta State loom as a possible quarterfinal opponent if the Judges can pass their next big test.

CROSS COUNTRY

Both the Brandeis men's and women's cross country teams will be represented at the 2016 NCAA Division III Championships in Louisville, Kentucky, on Saturday. Sophomore Emily Bryson makes her second cross country appearance and third overall at an NCAA Championship meet for the women. She finished 31st and became the first freshman All-American in women's cross country history. Emily's race starts at 11 a.m. Junior Ryan Stender is in search of his first All-America honor in his second trip to an NCAA championship. He went to indoor nationals last year. Ryan races at 12 noon.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

The winter season is underway as well, and Brandeis women's basketball takes a 2-0 record and stingy defense (45.0 ppg allowed) against the high-octane Westfield State Owls, who put up 103 points on Rhode Island College in the opening round of the Brandeis Tip-Off Tournament. The game is a rematch of the 2015 ECAC Tournament finals won by the Judges in overtime.
